- Alfresco

|
|
Alfresco ? a wonderfully soft single ply wool yarn with a touch of acrylic, Alfresco comes in many delicious colors. One of the few yarns we immersion dye, Alfresco is 70% Wool and 30% Acrylic. The Acrylic portion of Alfresco is a gold stripe which doesn't accept the dye. We don't use any leveling agents, such as salt, which allows the dye to separate into its color components. Minimal stirring causes the dyes to penetrate the yarns unevenly. Both of these techniques results in color variations not found in commercial yarns. Each skein is unique, although those within the same dyelot are similar and knit together beautifully without varying the skeins as must be done with handpainted yarns. However, if you prefer a more homogenized look in your knitted garment, we suggest knitting from two skeins at a time, alternating them every few rows. 200 yards. 6 ounces 3-4 Stitches to the inch on a US10.5 needle. Alfresco is perfect for your projects requiring a chunky wool yarn. Alfresco is hand washable in cool water. You may spin the excess water out in your washing machine. Lay flat to dry. |
